Thank you to everyone who has bravely decided to share their story with us. These are personal experiences shared by those living with a brain tumour or closely affected by a brain tumour. By sharing experiences, these stories can help us to raise awareness of brain tumours and help people realise they are not alone.

Chandos's Story

Chandos was first diagnosed with a benign brain tumour aged just three-years old and underwent brain surgery. He was re-diagnosed at age six when it had grown again, he then remained in remission until he was re-diagnosed for the third time in June 2014.

Now aged 22, Chandos is about to take on a huge challenge, running the London Marathon for The Foundation!

Oliver's Story

Oliver Highway was diagnosed with a Grade 4 brain tumour in 2012. He has had surgery and 53 sessions of chemotherapy which he will continue to have every 5 weeks for the rest of his life.


Oliver lives with his wife Sharon and son Elliot. They're huge rugby fans and were thrilled to meet their hero Lewis Moody at one of our Family Days last year. Oliver is a tremendous Ambassador for The Foundation and attended the headwest launch to let the team taking on the challenge know what a difference their fundraising makes. 

Sarah's Story

Sarah shares her family's story following her husband, Tony, being diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2001.


She talks about remaining positive, enjoying time together and explains what it is like to attend a Family Day. 

John's Story

John shares the story of his diagnosis after experiencing symptoms including pins and needles in his right hand, facial spasms and difficulty swallowing.

On being told his tumour type was incurable, John made the decision to focus on raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of brain tumours.
